Myint Myint Than 博士 (缅甸卫生部公共卫生司司长)

Dr. Myint Myint Than, Myanmar
Dr. Myint Myint Than is the Director General of the Department of PublicHealth, Ministry of Health, Myanmar. She has been working as a public health expert for the Ministry of Health since 2003. She pursued Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon in 1987, and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Mahidol, Thailand, in 2002. She received her fellowship in Public Health Policy and Management at Emory University, in Atlanta, the United States of America in 2017. Dr. Myint Myint Than worked in the field of women and child health for nearly two decades. She was a Deputy Director General of the Public Health Division in 2018 and supervised the flagship public health programs including the Maternal and Reproductive Health Program, Women and Child Health Development Program, National Nutrition Program, and School Health Program. Her research work focuses on conducting surveys for maternal mortality and under 5 mortality assessments in Myanmar. She pioneered the surveillance system for important indicators in the field of public health in Myanmar, including nutritional surveillance and surveillance of birth defects. She also contributed her dedication and technical expertise to the development of Maternal Death Surveillance and Response (MDSR) and Child Death Surveillance and Response (CDSR) in Myanmar.
