XING Wei

Mr. Wei XING, Chief Executive Officer of China Banking Association, holds a doctorate in management. He has previously worked in the Financial Management Department, Non-Banking Department and Insurance Department of the People's Bank of China. In 1998 he joined the former China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) and was appointed as the Deputy Director-General of CIRC Shanghai Office in 2008. He then worked successively as the Deputy Director-General and Senior Advisor of the Fund Utilization Department of CIRC since December 2010, as Acting Director-General and Senior Advisor of CIRC Henan Office since April 2016 and joined the preparatory team of CBIRC Henan Office in April 2018. He became the head of the Insurance Association of China in November 2018 and joined CBA in May 2022.
