Michael has more than 30 years‘ experience in the insurance industry. He started his insurance career with China Pacific Insurance. In 1997, Michael joined Marsh McLennan from the position of the Deputy Director, Sales Department of the CIPIC headquarter. Marsh is the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor. Michael held a variety of management roles in Marsh including the China Deputy General Manager, China Specialty Head and head of the Shanghai office. In November 2014, he became the CEO and General Manager of Marsh China, and in March 2023, appointed as President, Chairman (subject to official approval from regulator), General Manager of Marsh (China) Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd, and Global Head of China Client Services.

Michael has substantial client development & retention and corporate management experience, good networking, strong relationships with the State Finance Supervision and Administration Bureau and local authorities, and an in-depth understanding of the insurance and financial industry in China and abroad. Michael is a diversified leader who is open-minded, inclusive, innovating actively and advancing continuously. Michael is leading China team to deliver the best-in-class risk management solutions for Marsh clients, especially the Chinese enterprises investing overseas.

Michael holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Donghua University and Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance from East China Normal University. He acts as the industry mentor for the financial master program of School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Michael is devoted to the common development of the industry, and also serves as the vice chairman of the intermediary branch of the Insurance Association of China and the vice chairman of Beijing Insurance Intermediary Association.
