Lian Ping
Chairman of China Chief Economist Forum, Chief Economist and President of ZhiXin Investment Research Institute

Mr. Lian Ping is Chief Strategic Advisor of Zhongzhi Enterprise Group, and Chief Economist and President of ZhiXin Investment Research Institute. Mr. Lian holds a PhD degree and is a professor and doctoral supervisor, and Honorary Director of the Faculty of Economics and Management at East China Normal University. He was the Chief Economist of Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. From 2007 to 2019.

Mr. Lian is the Chairman of China Chief Economist Forum, the Director of the China Banking Association’s Industry Development Research Committee, a Guest Member of the China Finance 40 Forum, the Director of National Institution for Finance and Development, a founding member of the China Financial Forum, the Deputy Director Fellow of the Asian Financial Think Tank and deputy director of the Chief Economist Cooperation Committee, the Expert of Price Monitoring Center of National Development and Reform Commission. He plays an advisory role with the Shanghai Municipal Government on policy-making and enjoys the special government allowance of the State Council. He has frequently attended expert and entrepreneur seminars hosted by the Party and State leaders.

Mr Lian’s primary research interests are in macroeconomic operations and policies, foreign exchange and rate policies, development strategies and management of commercial banks, international financial centers and world economic theory. He has managed and completed over 30 research projects at the provincial-level and above, and has published over 580 academic articles and 18 books. He won the special prize at the 2016 Development and Research Distinctive Achievement Award of China Banking Industry for his book named "Interest Rate Liberalization: What is the Domination?". His book “Research on China’s Financial Holding Company in the New Era” topped the top ten financial books in Sina Finance’s 2019 Bank Comprehensive Selection. He won the titles of “Star Economist” and “Leader Economist” issued by the media.
