On December 2, Asian Financial Summit Forum and Asian Financial Think Tank Annual Forum (2021) was successfully held in Beijing. The theme of the forum is “Deepen Regional Financial Cooperation to Boost Economic Recovery”. Mr. Liu Liange, Chairman of Asian Financial Cooperation Association (AFCA) and Chairman of Bank of China delivered the welcome speech. Vice Chairman Zhou Liang of China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, Vice Mayor Yin Yong of People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and other guests attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Mr. Andrew Cross, Chief Financial Officer of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Dr. Ruan Zongze, Executive Vice President and Senior Fellow of China Institute of International Studies, Mr. Yuh Pok-keun, Economic Minister of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, Mr. Han Bin, Deputy Director General of Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of Ministry of Finance, Mr. Fabrizio Costa, Economic and Financial Counsellor of Embassy of Italy to the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Sun Shuqiang, Deputy Director General of Department of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Rhys Gordon-Jones, Counsellor of Financial and Professional Services of British Embassy Beijing, and Ms. Jiao Caixia, Deputy Director of Department of International Affairs of China Securities Regulatory Commission attended the forum. In their speech, they analyzed the challenges and opportunities facing economic recovery and financial cooperation in Asia under the impact of the epidemic, and shared their views and suggestions on how to give full play to the role of AFCA to further strengthen regional financial cooperation.

There were two sessions of keynote speech, namely “Asian Economic Recovery and Financial Cooperation” and “RCEP and Regional Economic and Financial Cooperation”, and a panel discussion of “Cooperation and Development of Sustainable Finance”. Also, Asian Financial Observation (Annual Report 2021) and AFCA FinTech Practice Report were launched. Participants from financial regulators, AFCA member institutions, non-member financial institutions and the media from over 30 countries, including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy attended the forum online.

Guest Speakers and Panelist
