Lixing Zhou
Dr. Lixing Zhou, born in November, 1932, is the Honorary Chairman of The International Conference on Vortex Flow Mechanics, is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, a leading scientist in CFD modeling of multiphase flows and combustion in China. He is presently as members of scientific committee of many international symposiums on multiphase flow and combustion.
His main research field is numerical simulation of multiphase turbulent flows and combustion. His main contribution is the theory of particle turbulence stronger than gas turbulence and a new theory of turbulent combustion model-second-order-moment model. He published two monographs in English, 6 monographs in Chinese and more than 300 technical papers in periodic journals. He won the China Outstanding Awards in Thermal Science in 2012, China National Awards of Natural Science in 2007, Science and Technology Progress Awards of First Degree by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Electricity, PRC in 1995 and China National Awards of Excellent Scientific Books of First Degree in 1992.
