Conference Theme: Precision, Intelligence, Green, Low Carbon
The National "14th Five-Year Plan for Smart Manufacturing Development" explicitly emphasizes the need to strengthen research and development of key core technologies and break through advanced process technologies, including additive manufacturing, ultra-precision machining, and near-net-shape forming.
Precision forming (also termed near-net-shape forming) refers to a manufacturing technology where components meet or closely approximate the required precision specifications upon completion of the forming process. As a minimal or zero-allowance manufacturing technique, it harnesses new materials, innovative equipment, cutting-edge technology, and computer-aided process design to achieve high efficiency, superior performance, and cost-effectiveness. This technology serves as a critical foundation for advancing the manufacturing industry.
To optimize the utilization of precision forming technology and maximize its contribution to socio-economic development, scientists globally have continuously driven innovation, yielding significant research breakthroughs and a series of remarkable achievements. In response, the Southwest Technology and Engineering Research Institute of China South Industries Group Corporation has proactively established China’s first international academic conference platform dedicated to "Advanced Material Precision Forming." This initiative aims to provide a high-end global exchange platform for experts in advanced material precision forming, foster academic collaboration and industrial synergy, and empower the development of "new quality productive forces."
Co-hosted by the Editorial Department of Journal of Netshape Forming Engineering, Southwest Institute of Technology and Engineering, Chongqing University, Sichuan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Harbin Institute of Technology, South China University of Technology and other domestic research institutes and universities, the conference is scheduled to take place in Chengdu from September 19 to 22, 2025. Renowned international experts and scholars will be invited to deliver keynote addresses. Additionally, scholars and industry leaders from around the world will convene to engage in extensive and in-depth discussions on the latest research advancements and industry trends in the forming mechanisms and processing technologies of advanced materials—such as magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, steel, copper alloys, amorphous and high-entropy alloys, composite materials, and polymers. The objective is to promote the high-quality development of related disciplines in advanced material precision forming. Researchers, engineers, and professionals in relevant fields are cordially invited to attend the conference and share their expertise.
