Overview of Guangxi

     Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, referred to as "Gui" in short, is a provincial-level administrative region of the People's Republic of China, with Nanning City as the capital. The administrative area covers an area of 237,600 square kilometers. By the end of 2023, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has a permanent residents of 50.27 million. It has jurisdiction over 14 districted cities. People of 12 ethnic groups have been living here for generations, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Maonan, Hui, Jing, Shui, Yi, Gelao, etc. People of ethnic minorities accounting for 39.02% of the total permanent residents, among which, Zhuang ethnic minority has the largest population, accounting for 32.49%, it's also the ethnic minority with the largest population in China.

    Guangxi has outstanding location advantage. It faces the Beibu Gulf to the south, and its 8 counties (cities, districts) in the southwest border Vietnam. The land border line is 696 kilometers long, and the use and management coastline is 1,629 kilometers long. Guangxi is a convenient gateway to the sea for southwest China, an important node along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and the gateway for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It enjoys the location advantage of “linking eleven countries through one bay”. 

     There are more than 400 scenic spots in Guangxi, forming five tourist areas, including Guilin, Nanning, Liuzhou, southeast Guangxi and Binhai. Famous scenic spots include: Guilin Li River, Guiping West Mountain, Ningming Flower Mountain. There's Beihai Silver Beach as tourist resort. Autonomous region-level tourist resorts include Guilin Taohua River, Fangcheng Jiangshan Island, Lingchuan Qingshi Pond, Longsheng Hot Spring, Yulin Fozi Mountain, Guiping West Mountain, Hepu Xingdao Lake, Beihai Weizhou Island and Lipu Fengyu Rock, etc.

     Guangxi is one of the karst areas in the country, there are beautiful peaks and waters, scenic caves and rocks. Guilin, known as "the best landscape in the world", is one of the four major tourist hot spots in the country. The well-known Beihai Silver Beach has the characteristics of white sand, flat beach, clean water and soft waves, which made it an excellent natural beach.

    With the Li River in Guilin, the Great Dragon Pond in Liuzhou, the Qingxiu Mountain in Nanning, the Gupo Mountain in Hezhou, and the Qilou City in Wuzhou...... Guangxi has endless beauty. The beauty of Guangxi is not limited to the beautiful mountains, clear water, caves, and stones, but also its richness in mineral resources and marine resources, and there are many kinds of marine biological resources such as fish, shrimp, cephalopods, crabs, shellfish and other marine animals and algae in the Beibu Gulf, which add infinite delicacy to the table of the people of Guangxi.

      Nanning, backed by the southwest and facing the Beibu Gulf, is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the political, economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological, and financial center of Guangxi. It is the permanent venue of China-ASEAN Expo and a regional international city facing ASEAN countries. Nanning is known as "the Green City of China" and "the place where the world's folk songs love to praise about", and has won the titles of National Civilized City, National Health City, and China's Excellent Tourism City.

     With a total area of 22,100 square kilometers, Nanning has jurisdiction over 7 urban districts including Xingning District, Jiangnan District, Qingxiu District, Xixiangtang District, Yongning District, Liangqing District, Wuming District and 5 counties/cities including Hengzhou City, Binyang County, Shanglin County, Mashan County and Longan County. There are three national development zones: Nanning High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Nanning Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Guangxi-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone. Nanning is the capital city inhabited by Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong and other ethnic groups. By the end of 2023, the city's permanent population is 8.9408 million.As “the Green city”, Nanning has beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural and tourism resources. There are 98 national 3A-level tourist attractions such as Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area and Daming Mountain Scenic Area, showing the ecological beauty of harmonious coexistence between human and nature everywhere.

     Nanning focuses on optimizing traditional industries, strengthening leading industries, and expanding emerging industries, promoting the integrated development of cross-border industrial chain, supply chain and value chain, and making every effort to build key industrial clusters such as new energy, new energy vehicles and parts, electronic information, new chemical materials, and aluminum deep processing.
